Dollar Stores Go 3 for 3 This Earnings Season. Here's What It Means for Investors Next Year.
The better part of 2024 has been particularly challenging for dollar store chains like Dollar General (DG -1.89%) and Dollar Tree (DLTR -1.04%), the latter of which also owns Family Dollar. Whereas higher-earning households have comfortably curbed costs by shopping at Walmart (WMT 0.39%) more often than they have in the past, Dollar Tree's and Dollar General's core customers don't have a comparable downgrade option.
