However, EDOW has failed to catch on. With just $225 million in assets under management since its August 2017 launch date, a big reason is its 0.50% expense ratio. One benefit of EDOW's equal weight approach is reduced volatility. However, its fundamentals are underwhelming compared to DIA, and with 76% overlap, the fees aren't justified.
