Eletrobras: Political And Economic Pressures Mask Improving Efficiency And Undervaluation
Eletrobras' ADR has underperformed in 2024, down 32% mainly due to adverse macroeconomic conditions in Brazil and political uncertainties. Despite headwinds, Eletrobrás shows strong fundamentals, improving efficiency, reducing costs, and increasing cash generation post-privatization. Political and macroeconomic risks persist, but Eletrobrás' attractive valuation and high dividend yield forecast make it a compelling long-term investment.

Eletrobrás: Mixed Q2, But Shows Good Signs
Although Eletrobrás has seen a reduction in its profit margin and higher costs, the company continues to reduce expenses and carry out strategic divestments. These divestments should improve the company's capital structure, which, combined with its attractive valuation, seems like a good opportunity to me. I believe the possibility of government intervention in the company is very small, and for me, this is the main risk to the thesis.
