IAI: Would Have Liked More Equity Brokerage Exposure
The iShares U.S. Broker-Dealers & Securities Exchanges ETF is not ideal for the current market, given its exposure to investment banking and capital markets. Volatility benefits equity brokers, but IAI's top holdings include companies not profiting fully from current market conditions. The ETF's 0.4% expense ratio is unjustified given the liquidity and accessibility of its top holdings, making selective stock picks more appealing.

IAI: Time To Shift Financial Exposures
The iShares U.S. Broker-Dealers & Securities Exchanges ETF is exposed to businesses indexed to primary and secondary market activity in debt and equity. Rising rates could negatively impact fixed-income brokerage and fixed-income primary markets. It's not great for AM, either. Even equity capital markets underwriting could suffer, as IPO markets are still pretty weak and would not appreciate re-inflation and rate hikes if that were to come.

7 Stocks I'm Buying In Defiance Of Post-Election Euphoria
Some stock sectors exhibit dangerous euphoria, reminiscent of Icarus flying too close to the sun, risking a significant correction. Post-election optimism has inflated valuations in midstream energy, regional banks, investment banks, and insurance companies, raising concerns about sustainability. The threat of mass deportations could impact agricultural REITs like Gladstone Land, affecting labor supply and lease structures.

IAI: Cashing-In A 20% Short-Term Return Amid Worries About Rates And Economic Uncertainty (Downgrade)
I recommended IAI in July, despite an expensive valuation, given expected tailwinds for investment banks, brokers, and exchange operators. While the ETF continues to be dominated by strong and stable companies, the forward prospects now look uncertain. After a 20% increase in market value since the summer, it's time to downgrade my expectations for IAI.
